How The White Horse came to be...

Wife. Mother. Horsewoman. Three of my major roles in this life. What do they all have in common? They are all nurturers. I was born to nurture, animals specifically.

I fell in love with horses after the birth of my first son. Looking for something to do in the community while on leave, I volunteered with a therapy barn nearby. I assisted with adaptive (and non-adaptive) riding lessons with participants from varying backgrounds – veterans, at-risk youth, and many others. I began to ride myself and fell even deeper in love. As a horseperson, you understand how much of our burdens these animals shoulder. They carry everything from our physical weight to our difficult day at the office. I knew I wanted to repay them somehow.

It was at this point, I decided that I need to do what I was called to do – which is help horses to feel their best. We ask so much of them. We owe it to them to do everything we can to ensure they live happy, healthy lives. I know you want the best for your horse, which is what I’m here to help you achieve. Whether your horse is a top-performing athlete, or your backyard friend, your horse will benefit greatly from regular bodywork. I currently offer services in Kinetic Myofascial Release (kMFR), massage, and PEMF therapy. Click here to nerd out on the different therapies available for your horse and how they work.

I achieved certification through NBCAAM for massage. This entailed completing a rigorous course which consisted of detailed anatomy, gait analysis, and massage techniques (sports massage, stress points, trigger points, myofascial release) and passing the national exam. Subsequently, I studied with veterinarians in Denmark who wrote the book on kinetic fascia lines. With this training, I learned how to release your horse's fascia from tip to tail in a matter of minutes rather than multiple sessions. Furthering my education and deepening my knowledge is top priority - always.

When not at the barn, you will find me with my husband and two sons doing just about anything outdoors.

Curious why I chose "The White Horse" as my business name? I wish for your horse a life free from pain. In the Irish culture, there is a legend told of Tir Nan Og, a land without suffering, death or time, only beauty and bliss. In Tir Nan Og, there is a story about Oisin, a warrior, and his love, Niamh, who are carried into Tir Nan Og on a magical white mare. The white mare keeps them protected on their journey.
